Cresskill Benefit


Benefit for CHS Vocal Ensemble trip is Jan. 25

CRESSKILL — The Cresskill community will host a ziti dinner Jan. 25 in support of the Cresskill High School’s Vocal Ensemble March 16 performance at Carnegie Hall.

The dinner is from 6 to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Cresskill Junior/Senior High School, 1 Lincoln Drive, Cresskill. The event is sponsored by the Cresskill Music Boosters

During the dinner there will be performances by some of the 28 members of the Vocal Ensemble as well as the CHS music program. There will also be prizes.

Admission is $10 per person, with children 4 years old and younger admitted free of charge.

No reservations are necessary but patrons are urged to purchase tickets in advance from a Vocal Ensemble member or by calling the CHS Music Department. Members of the community are also encouraged to give financial support

The Cresskill High School Vocal Ensemble, directed by John Von Glahn, was invited by Distinguished Concerts International in New York City (DCINY) to participate in a performance at Carnegie Hall. The concert is Sunday, March 16 at 8:30 p.m.

Members of the Cresskill choir will join with seven or eight other outstanding choruses recommended by guest director Rick Weymuth, to form a festival chorus of approximately 250 singers, accompanied by the Distinguished Concerts Orchestra International.

The Cresskill High School Vocal Ensemble will join conductor Weymuth in a performance of Franz Joseph Haydn’s "Missa Sancti Nicolai" and Joseph Martin’s "The Awakening."
