A 31-year-old Englewood man turned himself over to police and was jailed April 8 following a bloody fight on Rosemont Place, police said last week.
Sule Ouhuru was charged with aggravated assault after a 22-year-old man told police he was attacked and beaten in a fight over money.
According to Detective Capt. Steven Sabo, the victim walked into police headquarters April 4 bleeding from the mouth and holding his jaw. The man was brought to the hospital and a day later, returned to file a compliant against his alleged attackers.
The victim said he was on Rosemont Place when he said a man, who approached him, asked him the whereabouts of a mutual friend.
Words were exchanged and the victim said he was punched in the jaw then kicked in the face by another man.
The attackers got away in a maroon-colored car, the victim told police.
Detectives investigated, compiled a complaint for aggravated assault and three days later, Ouhuru surrendered to police.
As of last week, police said Ouhuru was being held in Bergen County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail on the aggravated assault charge.
