Use caution when traveling today, as a wintry mix is predicted to make for a messy mid-week commute.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Bergen County area with temperatures only reaching the mid 20s. During the daytime, snow accumulations should be less than an inch.

Early Wednesday the snow will transition to freezing rain and sleet, which will heavily affect the morning commute with possibly one to three inches of new snow and ice before turning into rain.

The storm should pass by Wednesday afternoon and temperatures should rise to the high 30s for a sunny Thursday.
